VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING CENTER
Youths are faced with different challenges including drug abuse, early girl child marriages, education inequality and unemployment among others. As Kisa foundation Team took a step to make research to pave way for over 200 children beneficiaries of the organization to become important citizens to society. About 142 million youths in the world within the upper secondary school age are not in school with an average 14% of their enrolment into schools in developing countries, especially in Africa. This curtails the possibility of obtaining an acceptable or optimum education. While left out of school, youths are faced with different temptations such as use of illicit drugs, lack of employment, early marriages, child abuse and crime. The education inequality in the world today affects youths’ ability to compete favorably in the job market.
Youth unemployment in Uganda stands at 13.3% which even worsened during the COVID-19 directive on lockdown and curfew hours. The lockdown that started in March 2020 until July when it was partially lifted has left majority of the youths, parents and guardians jobless with lack of enough funds and ability to support both them and their beneficiaries due to the limited job opportunities as many lost Jobs while many businesses crashed since many where dealing in perishable products.
As Kisa Foundation Uganda sought to establish vocational training activities as to equip youth as starting from our pupils of Kisa Primary School as most of them are orphans so they need to be equipped with skills to both help the school and the pupils themselves to earn a living even in Holidays and times of uncertain disasters like covid-19. The program allows Youths to learn, socialize, share concerns and ways of mitigating the challenges they face in their day-to-day life.
We believe that youth empowerment is a process whereby children and young people are encouraged to take charge of their lives in which they are made aware of their direction of life to enable them make right choices and actions to improve their lives. Participation in youth empowerment programs can assist youths in improving their quality of life through the transformation of their attitudes, values, and beliefs.

Kisa Foundation Uganda is a non-profit organization based in Nansana West 1A, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District - Uganda organized registered under NO:NMC/CBO/203/21to help fight poverty, disease and lack of education in Uganda. We believe the best way to pursue these goals is through development of self-sustaining, income-generation activities.Nansana Municipality is the largest Municipality in Uganda both in size and population. It is formed of 4 Divisions that is Nansana Division, Nabweru Division, Gombe Division and Busukuma Division. The population is estimated to around 350,000 people of whom 45% have one meal a day, 35% are children of primary school going, 25% is renting their homes and 65% is unemployed. There have been a lot of efforts by Government and other institutions, however, there is still a lot of poverty and other related constraints brought by Covid 19 and other factors that have left a lot of community members unemployed, lack of food, working capital and practical skills. Kisa Foundation Uganda understanding this problem wish to provide food relief and other items to these vulnerable families in the community. We are seeking for support from able and kind people all over to join hands to help us reach out to these people with items.
