Nansana | 7

THIS PROJECT IS ABOUT:

Children

Summary

Kisa Foundation Uganda is a non-profit organization based in Nansana West 1A, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District - Uganda organized registered under NO:NMC/CBO/203/21to help fight poverty, disease and lack of education in Uganda. We believe the best way to pursue these goals is through development of self-sustaining, income-generation activities.

Nansana Municipality is the largest Municipality in Uganda both in size and population. It is formed of 4 Divisions that is Nansana Division, Nabweru Division, Gombe Division and Busukuma Division.

The population is estimated to around 350,000 people of whom 45% have one meal a day, 35% are children of primary school going, 25% is renting their homes and 65% is unemployed. There have been a lot of efforts by Government and other institutions, however, there is still a lot of poverty and other related constraints brought by Covid 19 and other factors that have left a lot of community members unemployed, lack of food, working capital and practical skills. Kisa Foundation Uganda understanding this problem wish to provide food relief and other items to these vulnerable families in the community.

We are seeking for support from able and kind people all over to join hands to help us reach out to these people with items.

Challenge

The rationale for carrying out this project in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso district, Uganda is based on the challenges and risks resulting from increasing number of poor families, families coming from the neighboring villages, towns and outside Uganda. Families in poverty are invisible, yet they constitute a disproportionately large section of the (poor) population.

Families are subsumed within the most referred to poverty categories: households, communities and people; yet among these they always occupy a position of least power and influence, and focus tends to concentrate on Well to do-related families. Kisa Foundation is a Charity and Development oriented organisation that wish to provide services in our community for: -

 1. There is a pressing need of COVID 19 affected victims and HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable children to be assisted.

2. There is favorable and peaceful environment that enables us to provide to the needy persons.

 3. The government policy encourages intervention mechanisms of voluntary organizations.

 4. There is open request for support from local and international communities
